Macrae opens the new school hall. o The school becomes a grant in aid institution in 1935. o The Vidyalayam joins the Free Education Scheme in 1946. o A three storeyed building is opened in 1952. o The school celebrates its silver jubilee in 1957. o Mrs. Sivanandam Thambyah donates Sivananda Nilayam and is opened in 1960. o The Vidyalayam becomes a nonfee-levying private school for Hindu girls in 1960. o The inaugural meeting of the welfare society with Dr. Nallainathan as president and Mrs. Thangarajah as secretary in 1960. o The re-opening of the hostel – Mangaiyar Illam by the Saiva Mangaiyar Kalagam for the Vidyalayam students in 1972. o The government grant is restored and the Vidyalayam receives grant for the payment of approved teachers in 1980. o The Vidyalayam celebrates its Diamond Jubilee and a souvenir is released in 1992. o The school purchases a van with students’ collection in 2006. o The Vidyalayam celebrates its platinum jubilee on the 22nd of October, 2007 and releases a souvenir to mark the occasion. o The Saiva Mangaiyar Kalagam sponsored by visions in 2007 organizes a multimedia room. |
